Here at Jake by the Lake, we take living by the motto "Life is Good" seriously. We cherish the small things that make us smile, that get us through our day when the sun isn't shining so brightly. To quote one of our shirts, "Life isn't Easy. Life isn't Perfect. Life is Good."
We all have our daily struggles such as paying the bills, keeping the house clean and getting the kids to school. We have moments, too, that make us think about the bigger picture. A sick loved one; a job lost; the current state of World politics especially those that are closer to home.
“In a world darkened by ethnic conflicts that tear nations apart, Canada stands as a model of how people of different cultures can live and work together in peace, prosperity, and mutual respect.” » Bill Clinton
Canada isn't an innocent nation. We have a dark history that we need to make amends for and we need to keep faithful to the stereotype that we're "nice" people. This great country has been built, improved and awakened by the people that have chosen to call Canada home. Our daily lives are filled by the gifts we've received from the World's people.
As Canada Day approaches, take the time to reflect and thank your neighbour for their contribution to our great nation. Canada comes in all shades and we think that's pretty swell.
